The Weekly Surprise includes the most exciting music that got on my radar recently – hopefully you’ll find some surprisingly great vibes!
Please read along and let me know what you think. Such a smooth selection with huge talents this time.
If you like it below, don’t miss out on the first selection which features some lovely disco from Hoodboi and two acts, Young Yosef and Pool, who are dope upcoming talents. Cheers.
Dabeull – Do It
Dabeull is not an artists that puts out tracks all the time, but when he does, it’s always amazing quality. His YouTube series, INDASTUDIO, is filled with funk and should be a huge pleasure for anyone to follow. They really underline what an amazing craftsman the Frenchman is.
‘Do It’ was released a few years ago, but since Dabeull was just announced to join FKJ on tour this spring, it’s now out on all streaming platforms. What a lovely surprise and time to reignite my love for this smooth track.
…and yes, I’m going to see both him and FKJ on the 14th February! 🔥

Sunspeaker – Under The Gun
Second up is Maurice also known as, Sunspeaker. A producer who’s completely new to me. He just reached out the other day and I really like how he’s playing with electro pop and -funk while giving it all a great indie touch.
His vocals works so well, production value is really promising, and he’s already touring in the US proving to me he’s serious about his stuff. He’s even opening on tour for Sir Babygirl in early March, with a show at Baby’s All Right in NYC on March 8th; so if you’re from around there, go check him out!
I’m definitely looking forward to hear more.
Laster – Today (feat. Blue Wednesday)
Another Frenchman! Laster appeared in my SoundCloud feed a few years back with the fantastic single ‘Night Club’ and has since put out several amazing tracks in a few Beat Tapes. He’s got some splendid guitar skills, and along with a love for funk, you just never go wrong with this talented producer.
On ‘Today’ he’s partnered up with Blue Wednesday to produce a surprisingly funky hip hop tune that instantly made it to my chill playlists.
twiddy Ft. Son Of Cabe – Let Go
UK producer, twiddy, finally released a new track after the fantastic ‘The Birds’ back in the late summer of 2018. I expect a lot of this fella in ’19, and I really hope a new EP is coming! His playful vibes are sooo refreshing and modern.
Hope you enjoyed.
Don’t miss The Weekly Surprise 001 – and then have wonderful day!
